Work-Life Balance is BS

I am currently on 34 days of work without a day off.

I used to think there was something wrong with my life. I felt that compared to most people I know, my life involved working way too much and not having enough “fun”. While I’m the first to admit that much of the work I’m currently doing on a daily basis is not equivalent to being at Coachella or having happy hour with fifteen of my closest friends, I do on a daily basis truly enjoy the process of building a company.

I had a conversation about work life balance with a good friend who is also an entrepreneur and she had a very interesting take.

Since when has life been in balance on it’s own.

When your work is worth pursuing it should take up more of your time. Stop feeling guilty about it. To create something takes a ton of time, effort, and sacrifice up front but if you’re successful it will allow for time and conveniences that you would not be able to enjoy otherwise.

I will likely continue this work streak for another 7-10 days and not because I have to, but because I want to. That being said…I do see a day trip to the coast planned soon after.

Here is to working for…Monday? Whatever that means…
