Getting Started with NavyFCU

UPDATED December 8, 2017 – NavyFCU first started in 1933 and was only open to members of the Navy, it has since become open to many branches of the military including: Uniformed and civilian members of the Department of Defense(DoD), DoD Reservist, US Coast Guard, All Army and Air National Guard, Navy employees, and any family members including grandparents, foster and adopted children.

It’s no wonder that it boasts over 6 million members. When members visit they can see for themselves all the benefits of having a checking account.

NFCU offers a wide variety of financial services to its members. Serving the members of the military is Navy Federal’s top priority. To accomplish this by offering super low interest rates on credit cards, loans, checking and savings account options.

They also offer online banking with access from a computer or phone app, and business and retirement services. There are many options for online NavyFCU members that should be explored.

NFCU members also enjoy a 30,000 ATM machine network, low late fees and no fees for foreign transactions, whereas other institutions can charge upwards of 3%. If you are a new member to the Navy Federal community, you will want to set up your online account as soon as possible. When you visit for the first time you will notice how easy it is to use.

Find the “Join Now” button at the very top of the homepage and “Get Started” on your application and online account process. Fill out the necessary forms with your personal information and click the “Submit” button.

When you create your online account create a username that is easy to remember and a password that would be difficult for others to guess. Password protection is important for identity theft protection so use numbers, letters and special characters to ensure you won’t be a victim of identity theft.
